Drone sightings over Europe: an interactive incident map
Unidentified drones over airports, bases and power plants. Every verified sighting, mapped.

Over the past year, unexplained drone sightings have closed airports, hovered over military bases, and circled critical energy infrastructure across Europe.
This map plots verified incidents by type: airport closures, military-site overflights, and energy-infrastructure approaches. Most remain unattributed. Some are almost certainly hobbyists; the concern is the ones that are not.
Counter-drone rules are the bottleneck: in most countries, only military or federal police may jam or down a drone — and only under narrow conditions.
Why it matters
Cheap drones stress-test expensive infrastructure. Each closure costs millions; each unanswerable sighting erodes confidence in airspace control.
What to watch next
New EU counter-drone legislation, and whether attribution for any incident is ever made public.
